On this page, we provide information about what Milord is and aims to be (to avoid misunderstandings with future guests and their reviews ...).
Agriturismo Milord is primarily a guesthouse, so there will be no kitchen, hot water boiler, or coffee maker in the room. We decided to use this type of accommodation to ensure that we don't have to deal with in-room accidents such as burns, damage, etc., which actually happened when we first started our hospitality venture 10 years ago. This is why eating in our rooms, bringing food, or coffee makers from home are not permitted. This "policy" is now common in most Hotels, Inns or Agritourisms that only offer guestrooms.
If, however, you prefer to eat "on your own," we offer our guests large outdoor areas where they can eat their own food, ordered by phone (e.g., pizzas) or purchased during the day.
Breakfast: During breakfast, any food taken must be consumed exclusively in the breakfast room. It is not permitted to take it out for later consumption. This is a UNIVERSAL "rule" at all accommodations, not just at Milord. We are always available to help our guests prepare any snacks they need for their excursions; the important thing is to ask the staff.
Rules... the much-discussed rules that some (very few) guests have written in their reviews. Unfortunately, it's true, we do have rules, but as some of my long-time guests write, they are the common "unwritten" rules that, among polite and civilized people, are generally unnecessary. Unfortunately, we had to write these rules after experiencing inappropriate behavior and damage from some guests. These rules, in fact, are written and addressed only and exclusively to those few people who think they are entitled to everything and can do anything, whether it be dirty, damaged, or even stolen. Unfortunately, good manners aren't for everyone, and my rules are there to ensure that the stay of these few guests doesn't impact the peace and quiet of other guests. However, those who have been educated by their families are unlikely to be surprised if they find these rules written in their rooms, because they have always respected them.
Renzano di Salò ... the Milord is located on the "hill" above Salò in the hamlet of Renzano, exactly 1.7 km from the center of Salò. The Salò lakefront is easily reached by car in 2 minutes and on foot in 10-15 minutes (this obviously depends on your pace). Renzano is the town that in recent years has seen the greatest demand for beds and vacation homes in the area. Some wealthy foreign entrepreneurs and athletes have purchased homes in Renzano, because it's a place that allows for maximum relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of city traffic, yet within two minutes of the historic center. Therefore, if you choose the Milord, don't expect to be on the shores of the lake...
Children/teenagers. They are and always will be welcome at the Milord, but, again, with rules that may seem trivial to most, but unfortunately, aren't trivial to some. For example, we ask that children not be left alone in the pool or in their rooms (especially very young ones). I've already had to "call out" some parents for this... I'm sincerely sorry, but I'd rather be considered one... than have a child on my conscience. Then we ask that you respect the peace and quiet of others. It's true that we were all children once, but if you see guests sleeping on loungers by the pool...
But in the end, what is the Milord and what does it aim to be?
The Milord is an oasis where you can unwind from your worries, relax in the quiet and evocative atmosphere of the olive grove, sleep in absolute silence and the certainty of a room (and bathroom) as clean as you'd like them to be. Experience the typical Italian welcome and hospitality, where you'll be welcomed and pampered because we want your vacation to be rejuvenating and stress-free.
This is only possible if guests come with this spirit and a willingness to seek help and advice, trustingly and, above all, with mutual respect.
